Introduction
This Delivery Policy forms part of the sales “Terms and Conditions of Sale” for ElectroBit SA (Registration Number: 2021/882292/07) (hereinafter referred to as “ElectroBit”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and governs the delivery of products purchased through the ElectroBit SA Online Store platform. This Delivery Policy is incorporated by reference into the Terms and Conditions of Sale and should be read in conjunction with the definitions and provisions set out therein.
- In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between this Delivery Policy and the Terms and Conditions of Sale, the provisions of this Delivery Policy shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
- Our designated delivery partner is responsible for providing the delivery service for the fulfilment of your order. Deliveries can only be made to valid physical addresses located within the Republic of South Africa. Please note that we do not ship to P.O. Boxes or any other non-physical addresses.
B. Delivery Times
- Subject to stock availability and the successful receipt of payment into our bank account, delivery of your order is estimated to take between 2 to 4 business days, excluding weekends and public holidays. While we will use our best endeavours to ensure delivery occurs within this timeframe or sooner, these timelines are estimates only and not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
- All delivery time estimates and references to timeframes in this Delivery Policy are based on South African Standard Time (SAST).
- Orders and payment received by 14:00 daily (Monday to Friday) will be picked / packed / invoiced and handed over to our courier that day for delivery
- Orders and payment received after 14:00 daily (Monday to Friday) will be picked / packed / invoiced and handed to courier the following business day for delivery.
- Orders and payments received on Saturdays or Sundays will be processed—picked, packed, invoiced—and handed over to the Courier on the following Monday (or next business day, in the case of a public holiday) for delivery
1.2. Shipping Fees
1.2.1 Applicable delivery costs will be displayed at the checkout stage of your online purchase and will be confirmed in the Order Confirmation issued upon successful completion of your order.
2. Delivery Address
Shipments will be delivered to the delivery address you provide when placing your order. Please ensure that you supply accurate and complete delivery details, including the correct physical address and contact information. Incorrect or incomplete shipping instructions may result in delivery delays, additional charges for re-delivery, or even the loss of the shipment for which you may be held responsible.
- If your order is to be delivered to a business address, please note that Our Courier will deliver the shipment to the reception, mailroom, or designated delivery point. Our courier delivery driver will request a signature, PIN from an authorized person at that location, rather than from you personally. Unless we receive specific instructions otherwise, our courier is entitled to complete delivery at the reception, mailroom, or delivery point without obtaining your direct signature or acknowledgment of receipt.
- If you provide a home address that includes a reception or concierge service, our designated Courier will deliver the shipment to the concierge. The concierge may sign for the delivery on your behalf, provided they have a fixed location at the reception area or within the building.
- If you have not received your shipment within the estimated delivery timeframe provided in the dispatch confirmation, please contact us promptly at info@electrobitsa.com for assistance.
- If no one is available to receive the delivery at the specified address, The Courier may attempt redelivery or contact you to arrange an alternative delivery time. Additional delivery attempts may incur further charges, which will be your responsibility. It is your obligation to ensure that someone is available to accept the delivery at the provided address during standard delivery hours. ElectroBit shall not be liable for delays or non-delivery resulting from incomplete or incorrect address details supplied by you.
4. Customs Clearance
When a shipment requires customs clearance, it is the shipper’s obligation to provide, or to ensure that the receiver will provide, ELECTROBIT SA with complete and accurate documentation for the purpose but ELECTROBIT SA will unless instructed otherwise act on behalf, at the expense and at the risk of the shipper or receiver in obtaining customs clearance.
Provided that, in the case of shipments whose points of dispatch and destination are both within the same customs area, ELECTROBIT SA only performs customs clearance if instructed to do so. The shipper also agrees that ELECTROBIT SA may be considered as being the receiver of package or the shipment for the sole purpose of appointing a customs broker to carry out any customs clearance, in so far as allowed by law.
C. Tracking of Orders
- The anticipated delivery time for any shipments sold on the ElectroBit SA Online Store will be indicated at the time your order is accepted. This timeframe serves as an estimate only and may be subject to change during the order process or prior to the shipment being dispatched from our warehouse. To help you manage and monitor the delivery of your shipment after purchase, we provide tracking information once your order has been dispatched.
1.1 Once your order leaves our warehouse, we will send you an email containing your order number and tracking number (waybill) to enable you to track your shipment.
- You can track the status of your order at any time via the online Order Status. On the Account page you can view the current status of your order, view the items ordered, see estimated dispatch and delivery times, and track your delivery.
- Change of Delivery Address
Once your order has been submitted on the ElectroBit SA Online Store, it may not be possible to change the delivery address. 1.1 At ElectroBit, we consider the privacy and protection of your Personal Information (“Personal Information”) to be of utmost importance. As a valued customer of the ElectroBit SA Online Store, we want to assure you that safeguarding your data is a top priority for us.
1.2 Your attention is hereby drawn to the following:
1.2.1 To facilitate the delivery of products purchased by you, ElectroBit engages third-party warehousing, courier, logistics, and transportation services provided by the designated Courier.
1.2.2 ElectroBit as a responsible party, undertakes to ensure that all information collected from you and recorded is collected, processed and stored in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI Act”);
1.2.3 ElectroBit will provide your Personal Information to The Courier to enable them, as an operator under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), to perform delivery and related services on our behalf.
1.2.4 Our courier will collect, process, and store your Personal Information strictly in accordance with the requirements of the POPI Act to ensure your data is protected.
2. POPI Consent
2.1 By using the ElectroBit SA Online Store, you hereby consent to:
2.1.1 ElectroBit providing your Personal Information to the designated courier; and
2.1.2 The designated courier collecting, processing, and storing such Personal Information in order to perform delivery and related services on behalf of Electrobit and you.
2.2 You acknowledge that you supply your Personal Information to Electrobit and the designated courier voluntarily and of your own free will.
2.3 Accordingly, by placing an order on the Electrobit SA Online Store and providing your Personal Information, you hereby consent to:
2.3.1 the disclosure of your Personal Information to Electrobit and the designated courier; and
2.3.2 confirm that the Personal Information requested, recorded, processed, and/or stored by Electrobit and the designated courier is lawfully required for the operation of Electrobit;s business and for the courier to provide delivery and related services to Electrobit and yourself
E. General
- Orders can only be delivered within South Africa. We do not support cross-border deliveries.
- Delivery is subject to stock availability at the time of purchase. Delivery times may vary depending on your location within South Africa, and deliveries to regional or remote areas may take longer.
- Deliveries will not be made on weekends or public holidays.
- If a purchased product is unavailable, we will notify you and issue a full refund within thirty (30) days of such notification.
- In the event of a force majeure, including but not limited to strikes, extreme weather conditions, or government restrictions, Electrobit’s delivery obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event.
- If no one is available at the specified delivery address to receive and sign for the order at the scheduled time, we will notify you of the failed delivery. We will then reschedule the delivery at the earliest possible opportunity.
- In the unfortunate event that you receive a damaged or faulty product, please notify us within 24 hours of receiving your delivery by calling +27 81 264 7843 or emailing info@electrobitsa.com. We will arrange for the damaged item to be collected and a replacement to be delivered within 3 business days, subject to stock availability.
